Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel is a beautiful place all year round, but my favourite time for a visit is autumn, when the trees are coloured and the sun is low.
Since the park was selected as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013, it is usually very crowded during daytime. The best time for good shots without too many people in them is first thing in the morning during the working week.
I am not exactly a morning person, but I can be very dedicated when it comes to photography, so I made a quick visit in the early hours right before going to work. And it was totally worth the effort! While it was still very foggy and damp when I parked my car, the fog got less and less the further I walked up the hills, until finally the sun came out and bathed the whole scene in golden rays of light.
